However, after pre-washing, drying and ironing,
pattern drafting and interpretation, cutting, sewing and stuffing,
they simply did NOT want any decoration.
I auditioned accessories,
such as a fur stole, a pearl necklace and a gold ring,
but they were rejected.
So I placed them all on some artificial grass -
and let them play.
As I watched them frolic on their lawn,
I began to think about what we REALLY NEED -
the bare necessities of life.
I thought of nutrition - food and water;
protection - clothing, shelter, defence;
meaningful work - paid or voluntary;
a place of belonging - family, community, church;
compassion for self, humanity, creation;
awareness and mindfulness.
Perhaps this is a reminder to 'let go'-
not to cling on to those things and ideas and dreams
which stop me from becoming all that I should be.
Food for thought:-)
