They want to share; to give; to enhance the lives of another.
They want to connect in very basic and simple ways -
a smile, a handshake, a seat on a bus, the right of way at an intersection.
They want to enable and empower another -
through mentoring, donating to food banks, social networking, volunteering.
But many people do not contribute because of one simple omission -
no one asked them.
When we ask another for help - be it physical, financial, intellectual, social or spiritual -
we affirm their dignity as human beings and value their contribution and effort.
