The revolution that will save the world is ultimately a personal one."

"Gratitude," says Melody Beattie, "unlocks the fullness of life.
It turns what we have into enough, and more. It turns denial into acceptance, confusion into clarity. It can turn a meal into a feast, a house into a home, a stranger into a friend." May an attitude of gratitude bless your life today. Julia Cameron wrote,
"Growth is an erratic forward movement: two steps forward, one step back. Remember that and be very gentle with yourself." Let's celebrate each moment of growth: they are moments of gr Every day divine love

in an article I read in Tui Motu, November, 2012. He goes on to answer, "... that the presence of God is their efforts to stay in love, in the families they struggle to hold together, in the terrible anxiety about money and mortgages, in the fears for their health, in their depressions and temptations, in their despair before a world in pain, in their loss of faith, in all their experiences of death and hope, in their desire to worship God." May the presence of the divine bless your life today. In "The Song of the Bird", Anthony De Mello told the story of 'The Salt Doll'.
A salt doll journeyed for thousands of miles and stopped on the edge of the sea. It was fascinated by this moving liquid mass, so unlike anything it had seen before. "What are you?" said the salt doll to the sea. "Come in and see", said the sea with a smile. So the doll waded in. The further it went the more it dissolved ill there was only a pinch of it left. Before that last bit dissolved, the doll exclaimed in wonder, "Now I know what I am!" May each of us be richly blessed as we discover what we are. A story by Catherine Marshall.
There was once a king who offered a prize to the artist who would paint the best picture of peace. Many artists tried. The kig looked at all the pictures but there were only two he really liked and he had to choose between them. One was a picture of a calm lake. The lake was a perfect mirror for the towering mountains all around it. Overhead was a blue sky with fluffy white clouds. All who saw the painting thought it was the perfect picture of peace. The other painting had mountains, too. But these were rugged and bare. Above was an angry sky, from which rain fell and lightning played. Down the side of the mountain tumbled a foaming waterfall. This did not look peaceful at all. But when the king looked closely, he saw growing behind the waterfall a tiny bush growing in a crack in the rock. In the bush, a bird had built her neast. There, in the midst of the angry water, sat a mother bird on her nest - in perfect peace. Which picture do you think won the prize? The second painting. Do you know why? "Because," said the king, "peace does not mean to be in a place where there is no noise or trouble or hard work. Peace means to be in the midst of all those things and still be calm in heart. That is the real meaning of peace. May we be blessed as we discover calm and peace in the midst of our lives. |
