Rabindranath Tagore is an Indian poet ... a spiritual seeker and guide ... a man in love. His poetry sustains me, encourages me, invites me, to try again :) Joyce Rupp is a favourite author and spiritual guide. Her writing is both grounded and inspirational. She often writes with Macrina Wiederkehr. One of their poems, Listening To Winter, inspired some textile art. Every day is a good day. It may not seem so ... frustrations, sickness, grief, desire, fear, depression ... can act as a veil, a curtain, blocking our view. But we can enter into the day with a grateful heart, an attentive spirit, a mindful intention, and we will notice the goodness within each day. I love the Muppets and the creative genius of Jim Henson. Each Muppet has such a unique character ... and they reflect the diversity of humanity ... and we laugh :) Throughout our lives, we build and unbuild. Ideas. Relationships. Personna. Art. I have loved this song from the first time I heard it as a teenager. A classic. Christine Valters Paintner is the Abbess of the Abbey of the Arts. She is a gifted poet, writer, photographer, and spiritual guide. Now living in Ireland, she has joined with Noriana Kennedy to produce this reflective video. I believe we were created to live in community - in relationship with others. Sometimes this may be transitory - a brief encounter which enriches both our lives. Sometimes this relationship is long term and durable - each person bearing witness to the life of the other. Sometimes we are drawn to another because of our like-mindedness. Sometimes the community is a support group of people travelling a similar but not identical journey. We are all unique human beings. In each relationship or community, we become a circle of friends, a vessel of hope. |
