Brandon Doman says, "People want to be heard." and I agree.
They don't necessarily want to be fixed, but in the sharing of their stories,
the dignity of their human-ness is honoured.
Some of the stories are powerful or painful or harrowing or heart-breaking.
My dolls are 'collectors of stories'.
They embody my story and thoughts and feelings as I create them;
and those who see them view them through the lens of their own life stories.
Sitting around a table making or embellishing dolls is also a safe environment
for people to share of their most intimate selves.
We all become a little more fully human.
We are all richly blessed.
