In an article in the 'Listener' (August 4, 2012), Hamish Keith wrote about being ambushed by art. He confesses to being slightly weepy "when confronted by a fine flash-mob performance There is something very moving about people being ambushed by art: Beethoven's Ode to Joy in a Spanish town square, Grieg's Peer Gynt in a Copenhagen subway car, Handel's Messiah in a New orlean's mall, and Ka Mate Ka Mate in a Brisbane street. ... Street art is a fine example of art by ambush, not only taking us by surprise, but offering unmediated joy."
May we be blessed with unmediated joy today.
