Isa is a 'Selfie' - a doll representing an aspect of my self.
She is encased, enclosed, entrapped, ensnared ... by what? Do the buttons represent containment or a means of release? Are we ever more than partially revealed, partially visible? Veta is one of a series called 'Selfies', exploring self image.
She is a time traveller. Betsy reflects the fragility of any system of thought, when something once thought impossible is disproven. A metaphor for my life, perhaps. Liesel is one of a series called 'Selfies' - images I make of myself.
This doll is in a foetal position - a promise of rebirth? a retreat into a place of safety and comfort? a rejection of the adult world? Etti is a self-portrait, a 'Selfie'.
