PRIMAL SCREAM
This series of images were triggered by my desire to recycle or re-purpose everything I possibly could.
I had an old T-shirt that had this invocation on the front:
Don't have a cow.
Don't vex, fret or stew.
Don't freak out.
Don't go ballistic.
Don't lose your cool.
Don't have a coronary.
Don't wig out.
Don't blow a gasket or get your nose out of joint.
On the back (which was not usable) was the invitation: Just pray.
It became my mantra.
However, my concept of prayer has broadened and deepened
and now the invitation to pray would include:
a slow walk by the lake,
listening to beautiful music,
meditation,
a visit to an art gallery,
sharing a smile with a stranger,
giving something to an op-shop or a foodbank,
creating,
putting myself in the shoes of another,
smelling the roses,
watching a spider spin a web,
making ginger beer ...
the ways we can dissipate anger and connect with the divine are infinite.
