BOUND
Sometimes the events in our lives can wrap us in self-pity;
grief;
fear;
trepidation;
confusion.
It takes the miracle of support and love and prayer to begin the process of unbinding;
of unravelling;
of freeing.
It takes someone to be attentive to our smallest needs,
and to respond to our tentative movements towards new life.
As I dealt with my emotions after the ending of my marriage,
I intuitively made this doll.
Instead of clothing her,
she is bound with a loose-weave bandage.
She is totally encased but against all the odds, she manages to free one hand.
Someone noticed ... and took my hand.
grief;
fear;
trepidation;
confusion.
It takes the miracle of support and love and prayer to begin the process of unbinding;
of unravelling;
BOUND ... A REFLECTION ON THE RAISING OF LAZARUS
JOHN 11:1-44
What about me?
Will you give me a second chance at living?
Will you loose that which binds me?
What will loosen these bindings:
these expectations?
these hopes?
these assumptions?
the judicial process?
my memory?
Will I encounter life again?
How will I encounter this new life?
Will you give me a second chance at living?
Will you loose that which binds me?
What will loosen these bindings:
these expectations?
these hopes?
these assumptions?
the judicial process?
my memory?
Will I encounter life again?
How will I encounter this new life?
