DREAM CATCHER
What a powerful image ... "Dream catcher".
Does it describe a visionary?
A prophet?
An artist?
Or the divine?
Is it a talisman or a portal?
Does it embody truths about our humanity?
There are many conflicting stories about the origin of the 'dream catcher' and how it works.
Some argue that this may be proof of it antiquity.
The traditional symbol has survived
but its original meaning has been lost and subsequently reinterpreted in many different ways.
I have created a "Dream catcher" that reflects my spiritual seeking.
It is made by one who has embraced the gift of baptism
and allows it to transform her own life and the lives of all those she encounters.

The circle ...

A symbol of Godde's never-ending love for me.
There is no beginning ...
and no end.
The net ...

Through my baptism,
I am called to become a 'fisher of men'.
My net?
The way I live my life to reflect divine love.
I am called to become a 'fisher of men'.
My net?
The way I live my life to reflect divine love.
The pieces of mirror...

Look.
I am made in the image of Godde.
I am invited to reflect the light of Christ to others.
I am made in the image of Godde.
I am invited to reflect the light of Christ to others.
The feather and shells...

Feathers were believed to be a soft ladder
for the good dreams to glide down
and gently enter the dreamer's mind.
A tangible reminder of the awesomeness of creation.
I am Godde's new creation ... each and every day.
for the good dreams to glide down
and gently enter the dreamer's mind.
A tangible reminder of the awesomeness of creation.
I am Godde's new creation ... each and every day.
The wooden beads ...

I am called to be a woman of prayer ...
in silence and in voice;
in community and alone;
in buildings and in the forest;
in ritual and in freedom;
from prayer books and from the heart;
in art and in music;
in consolation and in desolation ...
I am called to be a woman of prayer.
The bells ...

A call to worship.
A call to gather.
Make a joyful noise unto the Lord!
The glass beads ...

All those people,
alive and dead,
known and unknown,
who help me to encounter and recognise divine love.
The hole in the centre ...

Jesus,
the narrow door,
through whom I may know
that I am loved
and welcome.
The doves ...

The spirit in my life ...
empowering
enabling
advising
prompting
encouraging
loving.
empowering

encouraging
loving.
The rays ...

How do I reveal divine love to others?
