GOD ALONE IS ENOUGH
When I had finished making the 'Burdened' series of dolls,
I needed to give thanks.
It had been a harrowing process
to consider all that which I thought was burdening me.
In the end I realised that God alone was enough.
The burdens did not disappear,
but somehow the shared burden was easier to shoulder,
and after a while I found that I wasn't carrying it at all.
Now and then I think about them
and try to invite them into my heart room.
But truth be told, they are only welcome for a short visit now:
a brief conversation or dialogue,
acknowledging them,
listening to their voice,
and then bidding them farewell.
I honour their part in my life story
but I do not want to be subsumed by these burdens.
This rosary and cross honours my trials and tribulations but gives thanks to God.
It is crocheted from white woolen yarn.
"God alone is enough
whomever has God
wants for nothing at all"
sung by John Michael Talbot
