SHADES OF GRAY
I began making these dolls after receiving a gift of gray polar fleece
and wondering ...
how can I honour the generosity of the giver?
At the same time,
I was very aware of all those living with cancer ...
sufferers,
survivors,
caregivers,
support workers,
hospice staff,
medical professionals,
counsellors,
meditators,
holistic practitioners,
family,
friends,
colleagues,
communities ...
And ...
I have always been deeply moved by the black, white and gray advertisement,
with just a hint of yellow,
made by the New Zealand Cancer Society.
So ...
I made fifty dolls from the gray polar fleece
and dressed them in clothes made in shades of gray (and black and white)
with just a hint of yellow.
I offer them to you.
The 'Shades of Gray' are $NZ80 each, plus postage and packaging.
$NZ10 from the sale of each doll will be donated to a New Zealand Cancer Support group.
