THE BAG LADY

This doll was made in response to a Creative Fibre challenge, "New York".
The homeless were a strong image I had of life in such a large city.
I deconstructed a plastic fibre freight bag.
From this, I made a 'bag' large enough to provide a home for 'The Bag Lady'.
I separated fibres from the woven bag and knitted a shawl on 6mm needles ...
a must for the freezing New York winters.
I created 'The Bag Lady's' form from the plastic fibre, sealed with double-sided tape.
She is stuffed with dacron.
Note ...
"The Bag Lady' reads Time and Newsweek!
