mass-manufactured, disposable, replaceable items.
Even in the 'hand-made' community,
entire companies are devoted to the manufacture of materials
'required' to create something ourselves.
This seems to defeat the purpose.
People have cupboards, rooms, garages filled with 'stash' collected and coveted.
Perfection reigns over function.
We seem to have lost our way.
It is uplifting to see a swing back to reusing, recycling, repurposing, up-cycling everyday objects, especially textiles.
It is encouraging, too, to see this being recognised as an art form,
as a voice of protest, and as a contribution to our environmental recovery.
